2008
RCHRA Gold Cup
The
U-6 Oh Boy Oberto made it 3 for 3 as driver Rob Hewson captured
his first RCHRA Gold. The U-6 Oh Boy Oberto was favorite coming
into
the 3rd race of the season
after
scoring 8 perfect heat wins in the previous races. In the first
heat of the Gold Cup, Rob surpassed the RCHRA heat record with an
incrediable 9 straight heat wins. But in
Heat
3 the Oberto had engine problems and failed to start the heat ending
the streak. In their next heat the U-6 placed second and secured
a spot in the winner take-all final.
In
the final heat both the U-22 Cellular One and the U-6 Kellogg's
Tony the Tiger jumped the gun. The U-6 Oh Boy Oberto went on to
win the RCHRA Gold Cup.
Also
to add to the success the U-6 Oh Boy Oberto set a new RCHRA Top
Speed record of 43.1 MPH! The record was recorded with a Garmin
Etrek GPS unit.

2008 Budweiser Thunderfest
Bernie Little Memorial
The U-6 Oh Boy Oberto and driver Rob Hewson won their second consecutive race by capturing the 2008 Budweiser Thunderfest.
Rob drove his craft to 3 perfect preliminary heat victories and the winner take-all final heat.

The teams struggled all day with high winds and rough water conditions. They put on a good show for all the spectators

U-6 Oh Boy Oberto Captures 2008 RCHRA Chip Hanauer Cup
U-6 Oh Boy Oberto team sweeps the preliminary heats and took the winner take-all final to score a perfect
race day. This was the first race victory for the U-6 Oh Boy Oberto and driver Rob Hewson. This was also with
a brand new hull the team debuted for the first time. The U-6 now leads the season highpoints.

The 2008 season is finally underway. Competition was strong at this years Chip Hanauer Cup. Not only did the teams battle each

2nd Test Session of '08
In preperation for the season opener just two short weeks away, RCHRA held its second test session.
Teams tested boat setups, props and experimented with different hardware.

2008 RCHRA Preseason Testing
The 2008 season is about to start. Teams conducted the first preseason test session. Follow link below to event photos.
Teams had ideal weather and water conditions to prep for the 11th season of the RCHRA. Three Teams made use of the open water time.
This included last years Gold Cup and High points champion U-22 Cellular One, The U-7-11 Miss 7 Eleven and the U-1 Miller American.
